So if you know me, you know that since I was about 11, I’ve been doing NaNoWriMo. This time last year I posted a tips and tricks post for newer NaNoWriMo writers, and this year, well–this year I’m opting out.
to be completely honest, I’m probably not going to do NaNoWriMo in November again until I’m through with high school and college. Many people have been asking if I’m doing NaNoWriMo so I thought I’d get it out of the way by sharing my reasons here. There are a lot.
1. I’m failing math
It’s really hard for me to admit, but I am. Math has always been a struggle for me and but it’s always worse in November. Most years I can go days without doing my math and as I get nearer and nearer to college I need to buckle down and concentrate on my studies. I will have time to write after college.
2. My social life is beginning to happen
I’ve made a few friends, and I have at least two social things happening a week, so it really wouldn’t work for me to become a hermit right now.
3. I will be travelling!
yup. I’m going on furlough sometime in November so NANOWRIMO would be a NIGHTMARE. 🙂
4. I’m a book blogger
so with school and socializing, I barely ever have time to read. If I even try to add NaNoWriMo into the mix my reading will explode because I won’t have time to read. and if I can’t read, then I can’t blog!
that’s about it. thank you for reading!
