In Which We Navigate the Furthest Planet From the Sun: Edelweiss

GOSH DANG IT. I know it. You know. Cait knows it. This site is the best but SO MANY PEOPLE are tragically turned off because gosh-freaking-dang it. This site is the new pluto! It’s hard to understand. So here’s the reality.

It’s simple. Oh? You don’t believe me? Okay then. Here’s a freaking tutorial.

(because Edelweiss’s help section handled this yet I felt like I should as well)

part one

STEP ONE

open edelweiss

step1

this step is crucial because if you don’t do it this tutorial won’t work for you.

Step Two

click register

step2

more clicking. I know. it’s so hard.

Step Three

register

step3

this is honestly the most confusing part of registering. But just do what I did. Because I am a genius (another thing we all know). Other than that it’s just like signing up for every other review site so I don’t need to tell you what to do.

part two

Step One

open edelweiss

that’s all.

Step Two

click things

stepone

omw. clicking. but seriously click the circled button because it leads to joy and happiness (aka: arcs)

Step Three

specify what you want

steptwo

this part is pretty easy. You can a. just look through all the ARCs, or if you want a specific sort, like YA or something like that, I recommend clicking on “age”

Step Three

ages?

stepthree

this is my usual blend of ARC age ranges. It gets the middle grade and YA books in there. If you’re looking for Christian novels, sometimes the YA ones don’t show up in this so you have to search them.

Step Four

find the ARC you want and click on it

stepfour

okay so next you need to click on the button circled.

Step Five

request it!

stepfive

I suggest you fill out the description of your role. I use the one in the photo because it’s short, to the point, and not super constricting. If you plan on posting your review EVERYWHERE, then say it. List the sites, (amazon, goodreads, barnes and noble, etc.), but as specific or vague as you want to. You can also add an addition message, but you don’t have to. I never really fill that part out, except when I request PS I Like You by Kasie West. Most of the time I just request books because the sound cool or have a cool cover or are published by my favorite publisher. So you can fill that out if you want, but I don’t. Also click submit when you’re done.

Step Five

be patient

It may take a week, several weeks, maybe more for you to get approved or rejected. Sometimes,  with rejections, you might not get an email about it.  But you always get emails with an approval.

Step Six

check once a week.

stepseven

You’ll notice when your in the review copies section there’s a button labeled “requests”. Click on it!

Step Seven

check for rejection

stepsevens

Step Six will lead you to your own list of requests, approvals, and rejections. If one is marked approved, click on it and go to the book page.

Step Eight

download your ARC!

stepeight.JPG

so you’ve clicked on the ARC and you’re on it’s page. Now click the button circled in red.

Step Nine

send to kindle!

stepnine

You can pick how to get your ARC, but I recommend going with “Kindle” You can get a kindle app on basically anything. also click continue.

Step Eleven

kindle email address

nhn.JPG

edelweiss stole my thunder here and has instructions. RUDE

Step Twelve

Send!

stepeleven

click continue.

Step Thirteen

wait

Your review copy will come now.

part three

Step One

click click click

stepone

CLICK ON THE DOWNLOADS BUTTON

Step Two

click more

steptwo

click on “write review”

Step Three

write your review (or paste (I don’t judge))

stepthree.JPG

write your review in the review space (gasp) I know it’s so hard.

Step Four

submit your review!

stepfour

Select your rating, and be sure to select “submit to publisher” or it just saves your review as a draft. Make sure your review is finished, because as soon as you submit it, you won’t be able to edit it.

THAT’S IT. If you have any more questions, comment below, or I DON’T KNOW, ASK THE EXPERTS. PHHHB.
